Running your first assessment
How to score intangibles and sport-specific skills consistently across your whole roster.
Pick your assessment period
Most coaches run a pre-season baseline, a mid-season check-in, and an end-of-season review. Consistent periods make trends meaningful.
Score with a shared standard
Each element is scored on a 1–10 scale. Before you start, agree with your staff on what a 5 and an 8 look like for your age group so scores stay comparable.
Score what you observed in practice and games, not what you expect a player might do.
Add a coach's observation
A short written note gives context to the numbers. Parents consistently tell us this is the most valuable part of the report.
